The California STEM Learning Network has been established with financial and in-kind support from the following organizations:

  • The S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation supports selected non-profit organizations and initiatives that seek to address critical challenges to the economic health and well being of the United States. The primary geographic focus is the San Francisco Bay Area where the Foundation can work closely with grantees whose missions and work can serve as models to be replicated in other areas. The Foundation is headed by its President, Lauren B. Dachs, whose leadership has played a major role in the formation of CSL Net. For more information on the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation and their various initiatives you can go to their website.

  • The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation guided by the belief that every life has equal value, seeks to ensure that all people - especially those with the fewest resources - have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in school and life. Based in Seattle, Washington, the foundation is led by CEO Jeff Raikes and Co-chair William H. Gates Sr., under the direction of Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett. For more information on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and their various initiatives you can visit their website.

  • The Battelle Memorial Institute is an international science and technology enterprise that explores emerging areas of science, develops and commercializes technology, and manages laboratories for customers. Battelle supports community and education programs to promote an enhanced quality of life for its community neighbors. For more information on The Battelle Memorial Institute and their various initiatives you can go to their website.

  • The Samueli Foundation is working to stimulate interest in U.S. K-12 students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) coursework, research and careers through integration of technology and innovative teaching methods. For more information on the Samueli Foundation visit their website.

The CSL Net was developed in part through three symposia in 2009, hosted by The National Research Council Center for Education, National Academy of Engineering (NAE), CCST, and the California Teacher Advisory Council (Cal TAC). Image courtesy CCST.
